Proud Winners of our Second National Citizens Advice Award for Access for All

Access for All Award Presentation

HFCAB is proud to win the National Citizens Advice Access for All Award sponsored by BSI.

We are particularly proud of this award because it recognises our efforts to increase access for clients to our services across multiple platforms, across the week by face, phone and online. HFCAB positions itself so that clients tell their story once, accessing the right agency at the right level first time. Our Information Hubs provide access to supported help with rights and responsibilities. The Advice Station provides one telephone access point for the Borough. Our projects provide a range of complementary services (see our page on projects).

We seek to address the root causes of why people need our services by building capacity and promoting independence in our clients and volunteers, thereby strengthening communities. As well access to services, we provide access to skills and opportunities. Money management skills are increased through our multi-award winning Financial Capability training programmes in the community. Our Digital Champion programme provides access to computers and skills and supports people through the Learn My Way suite of free online courses as a UK Online Centre.

Volunteering opportunities are provided for 130 volunteers in 8 different roles, all committed to delivering quality services. Through our volunteers we provide 14 different community languages increasing access for people with language difficulties.

Our unique Avonmore Library offering CAB and library services, integrates access to arts, culture and employment through multiple events celebrating the cultural diversity of the community.

At HFCAB, Access for All is more than asking for advice. We are grateful to all our staff and volunteers who make all this possible and the award is worthy recognition of their commitment and dedication
